Van haar site: This whole internet music thing that has sort of engulfed me lately all started when In February of 2001 I uploaded some really raw, home-recorded songs to the old mp3.com website. Just me and my acoustic guitar. Amazingly enough, people began to find me and they began to ask for more songs. So I began to record and upload more songs, and before the original site closed down in 2003 I had over 100,000 downloads from that website alone and had recorded my first album, "Dreams for the Broken". I’ve now just finished recording my second CD, "Soul Searching". Both albums are home-recorded and I produced them myself. The quality is raw, and there are plenty of flaws. I kind of like them that way. It’s my opinion that most times if you hear a song that sounds absolutely perfect, then somebody’s probably faking something somewhere. I don’t ever want to fake anything. Too many people are out there faking it for the money and the fame, and that’s not what I’m about. What interests me most in life is my family and my friends. That’s all I need really. My music is a hobby, it isn’t my whole life. I guess most musicians wouldn’t say that in their bio, but I’m just being honest. I love writing and singing, but I love my family more than I could ever love a song.
